Citizens Religious Freedom Institute 2015
Citizens Project held its fifth Citizens Religious Freedom Institute in April. Guest speaker Eric Kniffen is a constitutional law attorney specializing in religious freedom cases and provided a thorough and thought-provoking look at the intersection of public education and religious freedom.
Educators earned continuing education credit while learning how to think proactively and understand legal precedent and recent cases that have gone before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The second session of this program was a facilitated discussion at the Citizens Project offices where participants worked through “real world” situations in which they would need to navigate religious freedom issues in their work.
We are grateful for the participation of Dr. Glidich, Superintendent of Colorado Springs School District 11 as well as Board of Education members that attended. Additionally, we were pleased to have fourteen staff members from Meridian Ranch Elementary School!
Citizens Project is proud to continue to hold this important education event and we are committed to continuing this essential part of our mission.
