Citizens Project hard to miss during Pride Weekend
Citizens Project was out in force supporting the LGBT community this weekend! On Friday, Citizens Project welcomed in over 500 people to listen to the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, and Out Loud: The Colorado Springs Gay Men’s Chorus in a massive choir concert, Simply Sensational. The free concert’s donations went to the Orlando shooting victims fund and Citizens Project. After the charismatic SFGMC director Dr. Timothy Seelig moved the audience to donate during the program, a whopping $7,000 was raised. To see videos from the concert go to our Facebook page or click here.
Soon after, a sea of blue flowed through the streets of Colorado Springs during the Pride Parade on Sunday. Leading the way with a sign advocating for equality, diversity, and the separation of church and state and friendly waves from people in red, fuzzy wigs, over-sized American hats, and fluffy boas, Citizens Project told the public that we are here to support the LGBT community. We had a blast celebrating this weekend advocating for the inclusion of everyone in Colorado Springs! Thank you to those who came out to listen to incredible voices and sweat in unapologetic rainbow gear this weekend!
