Civic engagement is key to Citizens Project’s mission. Through the participation of all Pikes Peak community members in elections we believe that community values, such as equity and justice, will be strengthened. Citizens Project strives to provide nonpartisan information for all Pikes Peak voters to help them make educated decisions.
Election Education Forums
Citizens Project conducts nonpartisan candidate and issue forums for all local elections, bringing the wider community together in a free and safe space to learn about their options at the ballot box. We bring in candidates and representatives of particular issues and provide the chance for audience members to ask questions, which are introduced by a moderator.
We are hosting a candidate forum for the 2020 General Election (date TBA soon!) which will be available for viewing in mid-October. Candidates from local races (Colorado General Assembly and El Paso County Board of County Commissioners) will be invited to speak. We want to make sure candidates respond to the concerns of the community, so we are asking everyone to submit questions to us that may be used for the event. Send any questions you have for candidates to firstname.lastname@example.org.
