2013 Municipal Election Information

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. VOTE.

The upcoming 2013 Colorado Springs Municipal Election is already heating up. Because of a charter change that was passed in 2011, six new council districts seats are up for grabs, and two measures impacting our community will appear on the ballot.

VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION

date calendarThe General Election occurs April 2, 2013. However, this year’s election will be conducted solely through mail-in ballot.  Please check out these helpful voter education resources to make sure you receive your ballot:

  • You can register, change your address, or change or withdraw your party affiliation before the general election at GoVoteColorado.com.
  • Check out the City of Colorado Springs’ election website for important information, including dates, council district maps, and more. Or, call them at (719) 385-5901.
  • If you have any questions, need to report a problem, or are having difficulties with your registration, JustVoteColorado.org can help.  Visit their website for solutions to these and other voting-related problems.

A CRIMINAL RECORD DOESN’T NECESSARILY MEAN YOU CAN’T VOTE

Many people in Colorado believe that once you have a criminal record you can never vote. This is not true. The Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition provides more information: Can I Vote?

KEY MUNICIPAL ELECTION DATES:

  • March 4, 2013 – last day to register to vote in the municipal election.  You can register at GoVoteColorado.com.
  • March 8, 2013 – First day mail-in ballots can be mailed.
  • April 2, 2013 – Election day! Mail-in ballots are due at the City Clerk”s office no later than 7:00pm.
