Thank City Council Members for for supporting the Human Relations Commission!
Being a good citizen doesn’t end at the ballot box. Casting an informed vote is just the the first step in ensuring elected leaders represent your values.
Citizens Project monitors local government on your behalf, and we strive to let you know when our elected leaders need to hear from you. Today, we encourage you to thank City Council members who stood in support of the Colorado Springs Human Relations Commission (HRC) at yesterday’s City Council meeting.
The Colorado Springs HRC was re-established in 2010 to “promote understanding and respect for Colorado Springs residents by facilitating constructive communication through referrals, conflict resolution, education and outreach.”
Yesterday, Council members voted to clarify the role of the HRC, thereby empowering this valuable volunteer-driven community institution to begin its work. Please join us in thanking the Council members who supported this ordinance (click on a member’s name to send an email):
