Citizens Project thanks and congratulates the following individuals who will be joining our Board of Directors in 2013:
Jane Ard-Smith has been active in the local Sierra Club Group since 1997 and has been the Group Chair since 2005. In that time she has recruited and encouraged others to be active in environmental advocacy – both through the Sierra Club and other environmental organizations in the region. She has a long history of encouraging people in the community to run for office, and involved others in trainings to help them decide whether they want to run for office. In addition she is deeply involved in recruiting and deploying dozens of volunteers in GOTV and voter ID work through her membership in PPEC. She helped found the Green Cities Coalition, and since 2008, has been on the steering committee for Pikes Peak Earth Day. She does all of the aforementioned activities as a volunteer – she has a full-time job as an attorney with LexisNexis. Ard-Smith is environmentally and politically active because she sincerely wants to make our community a better place.
