Book review by Julie Cooper

The year is 2001 and “The Last Republican President,”member of the soon to be American Christian Party, gives his inaugural speech declaring that America has “turned it’s back on God,” and now is the time to return Him to His rightful place in American Society, American Politics and our private lives.

The speech begins a new series of events and laws passed over the next few years that: denies citizenship to anyone unless at least one parent is an American citizen, repeals the Supreme Court’s authority to review and void on Constitutional grounds Executive and Legislative branch actions, passes the Morality Amendment (31st) which outlaws abortion under any circumstances, repeals the fourth Amendment (which prohibits unreasonable search and seizure), gives the President power to declare “emergencies” when he legally rules by decree, and to declare the “Law of God” as superior to that of the U.S. Constitution, binding all judges to abide by its terms.

By 2010, religious tests are required of all elected officials and teachers, organized prayer in schools becomes mandatory, the 13th (abolishing slavery), 14th (guaranteeing equal treatment under the law), and 15th (guaranteeing blacks the right to vote) Amendments are repealed under the “Original Intention” (34th) Amendment, and Homosexuality is declared a crime.

Author [Steven Jonas] takes the agenda of the Christian Coalition Republicans (CCR)  and projects it systematically into the future in this haunting, fictitious portrayal of the rise of Fascism in the U.S.

Big Brother lives, only this time he has the “Law of God” behind him and the power of a CCR congress backing him up. George Orwell predicted well, only he was 30 years off. [Jonas’s] “The 15% Solution” is the 1984 of 1996 {original release date} and a must-read for anyone who cares about the future of our country.
